Mac's cool as blog

This week our class,room 13, have watched 3 out of 4 episodes of  ‘Inanimate Alice’a digital story.My favourite one was China because it made full sense whereas I didn’t think the other 2 we saw (2 & 3) did. OBSERVATIONS: All episodes start with where she(Alice) is & her age, they also have a dark or luminous background, also the text about what’s happening is always blurry & the episodes legnth have always gone up in 5 mins.(eg. 5,10 ect.)We really liked watch Inanimate Alice I think because it leaves many questions unanswered.Thanks for reading & I’ll probably put up a post about the outcome later.

Hi guys havinga great time and i hope you recieved my post card from Costa Brava on the Spañish coast

On Monday the 31st of May The 5/6/7 went to either Urrbrae High School, Minton farm or had people visit school to talk to them.My group went to Urbrae.Urbrae, because it is an Agricultural school, has it’s own wetlands. The wetlands there are very large so the are many animals and bugs.When we got their we met our guide his name was Phil Coles or Mr. Coles. Then we got split into 2 groups, 1 group worked with Mr. Coles and talked about leaves and bugs and the other group, scooped microorganisms out of the pond then, we would swap half-way through. My group were with Mr. Coles first we talked about leaves and wasp eggs and other thing that happen to leaves. Did you know cows are vegetarian !!! We also learnt that moths live underground and have orange cocoons!

After we did the scooping for microorganisms, I was with Orlando we found some really cool things and had a red worm .It was so cool we looked at it under a microscope and it looked wicked we looked at water boatmen & other things.We then left on the bus and left for school. Overall it was a very cool, fun, interesting day.

On Friday the 7th of May 2010 the 5/6/7′s of HPS went for an excursion to the Art Gallery, then to the SA museum in the Biodiversity Gallery then the Botanic Gardens then to the Adelaide Festival Centre Plaza. At 8.45am 3 classes  gathered at station to catch the 9.05 train. My Dad came with my class to help out. Unfortunately, he had hurt his leg a few days ago.  We got on the train for our excursion and left. When we got into Adelaide, we arrived at the Adelaide train station. We then walked to the museum entrance and Mr Mac’s class went into the the museum and we went to the Art Gallery. We had a look at some aboriginal; modern and old art. We had a look at the old colonial Tasmania and South Australia first. After we had at look at Budgerigar Dreaming and some Albert Namatjira paintings. Next we had a look at some other paintings like Honey Ant Dreaming painted by Clifford Possum.

After we went to the Biodiversity wing  in the museum, there was some really cool animals and facts in the wing. We had a little look around the ‘desert’  part of it. Then Chris, the tour guide, showed us some stuff and showed us the ‘Poo Drawer’. It had heaps of different poo’s in it. Next Chris said get into groups of 6. After we had sorted what group we are in Chris gave out some cards with some questions on them. Our question said go to the Ocean part of the wing.

Then we left for the Festival Centre Plaza when we had finished. The way we went for Adelaidians is, Along North Tce, then into the Botanic Gardens up to a glass house with Amazon Lilies in it, then for a snack stop, then along Plane Tree Dr, then we cut though the gardens to the intersection of Frome Rd and Victoria Dr, then along Victoria Dr then across King William Rd the to the Plaza. After that our legs were reallysore so we stopped and had lunch with Mr Mac’s class and Mr Berry’s class. My friends and I played Gang-up after lunch. ( Gang-up is ‘Tag’ or chasey except when you tag someone or get someone ‘it’ they are ‘it’ as well as the person who got them. So it goes on until someone is the last person standing not ‘it’)After lunch we walked back to the train station and caught the train back to Blackwood.
